Can anyone on this list tell me what to do next to find a record of my gg grandmother when all I have is her name and the birth date of her son which is: Oct 6 1814 in Sembzin, Mecklenburg [at least it is Mecklenburg now]. His name was Heinrich Ludwig Holz [born out of wedlock]. Her name was Catherine Dorothea Holz. These records were found in the Lutheran Cathedral in Ratzeburg. But there were no records for Catherine Holz.
I am hoping to find her through the Internet. I cannot read German. Any suggestions would be welcome and very much appreciated. The family were laborers and moved several times in the area just south of Roebel but they may have come from as far away as Alsace if family tales are true.
