Thanks for all your good advice. Have been all over Castle Gardens and lots of Neimeyer folks but not able to tie any to my line.
Have Christiana Winters b 9/10/1801 in Germany & d 3/16/1894 in LeClair, Scott, Iowa. M Fred Niemeyer b abt 1800 in Germany & d abt 1844 of cancer of the throat in Germany. They m abt 1828 in Germany & had Franz, Maria Johanna, Heinrich Frederich & Christena R. Do know they were here, Iowa, as Christena m Carl Christian Ludwig Lehms on May 24, 1860 in Davenport, Scott, Iowa.
The reference to Hannover is a sort of family lineage written about 60 years ago by, I think, Ruth Clark who was the family history recorder in the 1930-1940's. The document indicates they arrived in New Orleans and worked their way up the Mississippi River to Iowa.
Have nothing on Winters at all though the LDS data has quite a number of them--again, not able to make any connection.
Hello Bill,
the emigration book of former Kreis Lingen listed not yours family.
The Niemeyer's (21) I have came from Bernte/parish Emsbühren, a family 1856 from parish Lingen lutherans, Hummeldorf/parish Emsbühren, Mehringen/parish Emsbühren, Andervenne/parish Freren, Amedorf/luth. parish Lingen.
The Winter's (2) from Bernte/parish Emsbühren, Listrup/parish Emsbühren (also some Wintermann and Wintering).
You should check the LDS copies for this parishes.
Niemeyer - Lehms marriage occurred May 24, 1860 at Davenport, Scott, Iowa.
Was the bride Christina R. Niemeyer, dughter of Fred Neimeyer (deceased) & Christina Winter-Neimeyer?
At minimum both Christina's must have migrated to the U.S. sometime between 1844 and 1860. Span of 14 years.
Do you know if Franz, Maria, Johanna and Heinrich Frederich also migrated to the U.S.?

I think I mailed you a biography of a John Frederich Niemeyer, born Nov. 8, 1830 in Tecklenburg, Germany...Doesn't name his parents. Mentions migration to the U.S. in 1857. Bio says he married Catherine Iborg, born March 10, 1836 of the same locality. Bio says this couple married after arriving in the U.S. This biography was in book of bios concerning St. Charles, Lincoln and Warren Counties Missouri.
In the title there is also a biography concerning a Winters Family. Mentions that one of the Winter's men participated in the civil war in a unit that was reorganized into the Fith Iowa Cavalry. He mustered out in Clinton, Ohio but returned to Missouri.
Here is my ponder.... Maybe this John Frederich Niemeyer born Nov. 8, 1830 is your Christina Winter-Neimeyers son mentioned called Franz. The bithdate is fitting if Christina was born circa 1801.
Maybe the daughter Christina Niemeyer-Lehm and her mom went on to Iowa, up the Mississippi and Franz remained in Missouri.
Perhaps we find part of your Niemeyer clan arriving in 1857.
The Winters family in the bio mentions they were from Lippe-Detmold.

P.S. I still have the bios if you need them.

Let me think.
