Hello,
I am a new user on this mailing list, and I look forward to exchanging
family information.
I am researching my great grandparents.
Reinhard Zang (1849 - 1905) born in Stockstadt am Main, and immigrated to
the Bronx, New York City on 15 September 1880 on board the ship
Hohenzollern. His wife Barbara Nehr Zang (1852 - 1910) and their first four
children who were born in Stockstadt am Main were also on board the ship to
New York City. The children were Franz (1874), Anton (1875), Catherine
(1877) and Barbara (1880).
Their other children, including my grandmother Mary Lena "Lillian" Zang,
were born in the Bronx, New York.
Reinhard apparently returned to Stockstadt am Main for a visit in 1905,
where he got sick and died on 5 September 1905. A recent email sent to me by
Mr. Reinhold Riegel, Registrar of Stockstadt am Main, confirmed the birth
and death of Reinhard Zang in Stockstadt am Main. Reinhards parents were
Heinrich Zang and Anna Maria Bauer.
Reinhard's wife, Barbara Nehr may have also been born in Stockstadt am Main.
She died in the Bronx, New York City in 1910.
I am interested in finding out as much as possible about the family:
Did Reinhard or Barbara have brothers or sisters?
Are any Reinhard Zang's family members still living in Stockstadt or
elsewhere?
Are any photographs available of any of his family members? I have never
seen a photo of Reinhard or Barbara Zang, nor of most of his family. I have
a very small photo collection of some of their children and descendents that
I will gladly share.
Thanks for any information or comments,
