New to list - surnames I am researching

Hello,

I am new to this list and thought I would take this opportunity to let you
know what surnames I am researching.

I am looking for the surname KUFS - any place, in any time frame. Because it
is an unusual name, I feel that any Kufs found must be related in one way or
another. My great grandfather - Fred. Julius Richard KUFS - was born in
Leipzig, Saxony, Germany in 1862. He was the son of Julius KUFS and
Henrietta M"ULLER.

The other name I am researching is SCHAEFER. My grandfather -Georg Rudolf
Gustav SCHAEFER- was born in Jauer,Silesia, Germany(now Jawor, Poland) in
1888. He was the son of Adolf Oswald Herman SCHAEFER and Marie RINKE
(RINCKE).

Susan,
I don't know whether you have access to a German telephone
directory, but it still lists a handful of Kufs in the Leipzig
area.
I doubt that our list can be very helpful for you since it is
concerned with East and West Prussia only. However, there are
special lists for Saxony and Silesia.

Sorry, but Leipzig is in Saxony outside Prussia and would not be topic
for this list.
