[Forwarded message on behalf of Larry Cohrs <cohrsl@sbcglobal.net>]

Hello,
I know only English and some Spanish at the moment but
soon will have German as my second language. I am in search of
information on my gr.gr. Grandfather Ernest/Ernst Cohrs/Cordes born
Jan.or Oct 12, 1821(year correct but day may very) died June 10, 1881.
He had 2 wives, the 1st marriage was Caroline Wolfer(s) abt 1844, had
4 children, Ernest b.1845, Mary(died near birth), Henry b.1850,
Caroline b.1855, and Dorothea b.1858. Caroline Wolfer was born about
1825 and died about 1858. Ernest 2nd wife Fredrika(Fredricka) Lange
Schultze (from Isenbuttel) born Sept. 2, 1833 died Feb. 5, 1916 gave
birth to Charles b. 1866, August b.1859, Emma, Louise, Minnie and
Alwine. Ernest Cohrs (b.1821) immigrated to USA in 1870 and his son
Ernest (b.1845) moved to America 1871 or 1872 with his wife Caroline
Schultze (married 1866) b.1848 and 2 children Caroline b.1866 and
Ernest b.1870. All these persons were to have lived/born in
Neudorf-Platendorf area.

Family stories are that Ernst/Ernest Cohrs b.1821 was known to
have 2 brothers Henry or Heinrich whom remained on the family farm and
fought in the Danish-Prussian War 1864, fathered 6 children. The other
known brother of Ernest b.1821 was August who was killed hauling peat
to the market.

Another story passed down is that Ernest/Ernst Cohrs b.1821 father
was probably named Ernst , a coach driver and peat farmer, and had 2
brothers not named. One died in the 1812 war and the other was a
physician whom settled near the Russian border.

Grateful for any information,
Regards,
Larry Cohrs
