Does anyone know where "Neubauhof" Mecklenburg is? Christian Koeppen's church record in Wisconsin says that he came from Neubauhof in Mecklenburg. He was born Christian Martin Ludwig KOEPPEN on August 24, 1839. It may or may not still be known as Neubauhof.

Hello Donna,
if you go to: http://maps.google.de/
and enter 'Neubauhof' you will find six different villages in Mecklenburg with this name. You need additional information on the location to target the right place.
Hope, you'll find this out....
best greets
Soenke

Thank you, I have "googled" Neubauhof" before, but it did not work as well as the link that you sent to me.
Thank you again,
Donna

Dear Soenke,
Thank you too it is a beaut site. I was able to clearly find Mecklenburg, Kritzow and Lubow in Mecklenburg. All three towns have particular significance to the Bennier family.
Sincerely, Marc Bennier
Hello, Donna Hass.
historically there were *two* Neubauhof in Mecklenburg, see our
LocationDatabase at www.MFPeV.de.
I checked the entries in Schubert's register of the 1819 census. The
parish of Stavenhagen, wit the first Neubauhof belong to, contains
no Koeppen at all. But in the other one, parish Levin, four of the
six villages of this parish contain the name Koeppen. So, you
should certainly first read the church records of the parish of Levin.

Thank you so much for this information. Where is this Schubert's register? I am looking for other families also:
BRUN, GARLIEB, as well as KOEPPEN. Can I search this myself? I am coming to Germany next week, Monday actually.

Hi Donna,
Thank you so much for this information. Where is this Schubert's register?
These are books, but contain the appearing surnames only. Of course, you could read the
original census file. But I suggest to read the church records at the archive in Schwerin or
at any Mormon's family research center.
I am looking for other families also:
BRUN, GARLIEB, as well as KOEPPEN. Can I search this myself? I am coming to Germany next week, Monday actually.
Have a safe trip. Where will you go ?
Sincerely,
H.-D. Gronau
