Hello List, und Wie Gehts?
I've just joined since returning to the United States From Germany. Ich Sprechnung Einbisien Deutsch... but I sure can't spell some of the words. Anyway, I noted Holger's posting about the NEHLS. There is some connection of that surname with the Wangelin (note not the V. Wangelin) surname. However I don't have the specific details. I do have the details reguarding the above NEELER.
1. Transcribed Church records by Arthur Rubeck and Wendy L. Mayfield , Evangelische Kirche Ldershagen, Mecklenburg Schwerin Germany Kirchenbuch 1779-1896 [WANGELIN Ludwig David Heinrich], FHL Film 69320 .
"1785
B. 18 Feb
Chr. 20 Feb
Father, Dethloff Wangelin Kollen
Child, Ludwig David Heinrich
Godparents, David Andreas NEELER Kolln, Joh. Heinr. SCHRODER, Fr. AREN Hoppenrade.".
Anyway, could the NEELER actually be NEHLS? I say that because I question my ability to read the Alt Script. Does this fit anywhere into your files Holgar?
