Need help with a name

Just learned that my ancestor Heinrich Messerschmidt married his first wife, Louisa Hakot April 17, 1862. They were both from Hannover, but I don't know which town. I am not finding HAKOT in any surname indexes. Would any of you out there know what the correct German spelling might be?
Thanks,

Hello Harold,

the question is not easy, as Hakot undoubtedly is a phonetic adaption of a
German name. The original name could be "Hackott" or "Hckert". Has anyone
another idea?

Greetings

Rolf

Hallo, Harald,

Just learned that my ancestor Heinrich Messerschmidt married his first wife,
Louisa Hakot April 17, 1862. They were both from Hannover, but I don't know
which town. I am not finding HAKOT in any surname indexes. Would any of
you out there know what the correct German spelling might be? Thanks,

may be the right spelling is "Harkort". I found about 28 names in a thelephone record all about over Germany.

Kind regards

Some other possibilities: HOCHHEID, HOCHHEIDE, HOCHOD. They are also
names of German towns. Marion

Hi Harold,

how about Heckert?
