I'd be interested to learn more about your Petzold ancestors as my
g.g.grandmother was a Petzold.
Magdalena Petzold [Wendish - Batz Boetz] born 24.12.1831 at Nechern Saxony,
7th child of gardener Johann Batz and his wife Maria nee Rentsch.
She married Peter Zwar [Zwahr] 25.6.1854 and the couple left for Australia
on 4th July.

Any Petzold information in Saxony would be appreciated.

Cheers,

The earliest PETZOLD I have is Peter Petzold, born 1680 in Obermylau - he was my 7th GGF. He married a Regina (last name unknown at the moment) and they had 7 children:
Regina, Johann, Christina, Christian, David, Marie and Rosina

Christian married Christian Dietzsch (from Leipzig) and they had 4 children, that I know of:
Maria 1736, Maria 1738, Rosina 1741, Johann 1744 and David 1748, all born in Obermylau

Johann Micheal born 1744 married Euphrosina FORBRIGER and they had 6 children, all born in Obermylau. Euphrosina was born in Schonbach.
Johann, Maria, Johann Gottfired, Johann Gottlob, Johanne Sophie and Christiane

Johann Sophie married Johann PFEIFFER in 1800....this is where my PETZOLD line info stops.

I looked up Nechern and that is north of Dresden and very close to the Polish border (I believe)
I do have relatives from up in that area; but, can't say they were the Petzold klan or not. At the moment, I don't have any of the other names you mention.

Maybe we'll find a conncection somewhere? Have you searched the Mormon website? LDS Library?

Let me know if you have anything else...
