Someone mentioned problems with spelling of names and transcription, so I'm
sharing my tips.
If you know the area to look in, you are blessed. Search for the first name
only which is less likely to be misspelled plus age if you know it. I found
my great grandmother this way because she was using her maiden name instead
of her married name for both herself and her son. She and my great
grandfather had divorced.
Check for the siblings first names. My lines enjoyed naming a child one
name and calling him or her by another. That's when other names of
relatives are especially important. Use only part of the name such as the
first 4 letters or the last 4 letters of the last name. Usually the
asterisk is needed before or after the name to replace the other letters.
