the true translation (say: no assumptions, interpretations, parts being skipped etc) to English is:
On 15th of June, in the evening at [or: about] 7 o'clock, Christian Mackaewen's little son,
named Johann Christoph, was committed by the mother to fetch salt. Since [or: while] he walked
near the mill and because shortly before there had been a thunderstorm, so that the [wooden]
planks got wet, he probably slipped, fell into the water, came under the milling wheel and found
a sad but soulful death. [He was] buried on the 22nd of this same month, [being] 7 years and 4
months old.
