Hallo,

Hello Hans-Christoph,
I think that I understand this message to mean that you have
information about emigrants from Nassau to Ostpreussen. I don't have
proof but I have been told that my ancestor Carl Bohn, a miller, came
from Nassau. His son, Johann Friedrich Eduard BOHN was born 6 Jun 1832
at Antagminnen, Kirchspiel Budwethen, Kr. Ragnit, Ostpreussen. Carl had
died by the time his son married in 1860 in Magdeburg, Sachsen. In the
marriage record he is listed as a "Müller in Schuppinnen."
Is there any help in your resources which you used to answer
Peter Tilo which might help me? I am guessing that Carl Bohn would have
been born about 1800. If there is information from Ostpreussen to other
provinces, would there be anything about Johann Bohn and his mother
Christine Bohn geb. Lucht going to Magdeburg.
If you can not read German, maybe Fred Rump or someone else
would help us out.
Thank you for any help,

Hello Karen,
I was only referring in which books information about ancestors coming from
Nassau to East-Prussia could be found.
The Nassovians came to East-Prussia in the first quarter of the 18th
century, about 1711 - 1725. So your Carl Bohn may be a descendant of a
Nassovian who came more than 100 years earlier to East Prussia. The only B O
H N, I found in the book I referred to (Friedrich Stahl, Nassauische Bauern
und andere deutsche Siedler in Ostpreussen), was the following: B o h n,
Johann Heinrich. He came in 1722 from Fellerdilln in Nassau-Dillenburg to
Camharden near Georgenburg. This is not too far from Budwethen. This might
be the ancestor of your Carl Bohn, if the family tradition of coming from
Nassau is true. You might perhaps find more about him in the church records
of Fellerdilln /Nassau-Dillenburg or Georgenburg.
I hope Icould help a little bit.
With best wishes from the nice Mnsterland

Hello Hans-Christoph
I apologize for taking so long to respond. I thought that I had
sent this a week ago but just found it in my "Drafts folder."
Thank you for looking up BOHN for me. I did not realize that
the resource was only for 1711 - 1725.
There does not seem any way on this list to reply privately to
the sender. Or is there?
