Napoleon's Siegen victims, Siegen burgomeisters and Siegen mine ownerships

According to a family history I inherited from a great-aunt, my gggg grandfather, Johannes Henricus Heupel (b. 3 April 1776 in Siegen; wife: Maria Katarina) owned several mines with his brothers and also was a Brgermeister (mayor) in the Siegen region during the time of Napoleon. Napoleons raiders came to him for food and supplies, and when he had no more to give, they shot him; I'm guessing around the time of 1805 to 1813, based on Napoleon's activities in the region at the time. I'm looking for any sources of information that might help me confirm or negate any of this information, which has been handed down by generations. Respectfully, MaryJo Heibel-Regier, Denver, CO USA
