To Everyone who has replied.
What fascinating results you have come up with. Yes Andrew/Andrews in
Scotland are sometimes known as Andree but no Scottish relatives
that I know of are in my Andree family tree .
BTW Rena I am also in England (Suffolk) !!!
Barbie , indeed It is an intersting family as they were photographers
in Ceylon(Sri Lanka) for three generations, they were well known for
their contributions in that field. It was claimed that My Grandfather
A P Andree who was born in Ceylon was one of the first to drive a
motor car in Ceylon and one of the first to ride a pennyfarthing
(bicycle) He and his brother A W Andree were the first to introduce
the switchback railway, the most up to date photographic devices of
their day, the cinematograph, and the gramaphone to Ceylon. They
were pioneers of many forms of entertainment and exhibited the first
coloured pictures to be shown in Ceylon having succeeded in the
Lumiere Autochrome colour process. They were also associated with
McCormicks talking dolls and Simon's waxwork show.( I have yet to find
onfo on these two people) AP Andree had given a very young Lionel
Wendt his first lessons in photography and as you may know Lionel
Wendt also went on to become a very well known photographer in Ceylon.
I have an Andree cousin who is also carrying on the photographic
traditions of the Andree family which has pleased me greatly. AP Andre
was also known affectionately as "Bertie" Andree. It was his own GGG
Grandfather Fredrik Andree who came from in Celle ,Prussia
(Germany) in 1759. I have Fredrik Andree's date of death as 1784 but
no date of birth as yet!!! His Military service was listed as
being..........Cannonier at Kalutara Fortress. Fredrik is listed as
being married in January of 1759 to an Anna Maria Douwe who was born
in Ceylon.

So yes an interesting tree has grown over the years.
There are Andrees in Canada who are the grandchildren of my great
Uncle Arthur Hugh Lliewellyn Andree and I think we may also have some
Andrees in the USA who are related but this I am still checking out.
