die obengenannte Ortmann kenne ich nicht, forsche aber (zum Teil verzweifelt) nach Ortmann in Mecklenburg und Pommern. Hast Du noch genauere Daten �ber die Marie Charlotte? Vielleicht findet sich ja ein Ankn�pfungspunkt.
Does anyone know where Brightonfield, Germany is? Has the city's
name been changed because I cannot find this on a map.
I've been looking for ancesters of Stoppel, Szepanek, Gephart who
immigrated to Lansing, Michigan because I happen to have an old German
Bible of their family and an old photo, along with personal
handwritten notes and other items. I don't know how this is
connected to my family because no one knows these families
now...... but I think that the descendants would like to have this
back.
There are newspaper clippings inside the Bible and it mentions that
the Louis Stoppel from Brightonfield, Germany immigrated with his
family around 1880 to Lansing Michigan. One of his daughters was
Albertina Stoppel (b. 1869 - d. 1912). Our family has two portrait
pictures of her for some reason, one is a framed 8" x 10". I have
found out that Albertina Stoppel married Frederick Szepanek in 1891.
The German Bible belonged to Albertina's daughter Olga H. Szepanek
(b. 1893 - d. 1979). From news clippings I know that Olga
married a Clare Wilson Gephart around 1912. They lived in Detroit,
Michigan. Later at some point Olga called herself Olga H.
Wilson.

Brightonfield sounds as Breitenfeld. If you go to http://gov.genealogy.net/
and put Breitenfeld in, then you will get all locations
with that name in Germany, unfortunately there are
many and no one in Mecklenburg.
At the first moment, I was interested since I do have
Stoppel too, but my are from Wesenberg, Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
And so far we do not know of any single Stoppel of our clan,
who emigrated. If you will find any connection to this region,
please contact me again.
If there is any other information (names of towns etc.) in the
bible, this could be an important hint.

nachdem ich die Forschung nach den Vorfahren meines Stiefvaters in Mecklenburg mehrere Monate habe ruhen lassen,
möchte ich mich nun wieder verstärkt darum bemühen.
Sehr am Herzen liegt mir da vor allem die SCHACK-Linie und ich hoffe, daß mir da jemand von Euch weiterhelfen kann.

Hat zufällig jemand diese Personen in seiner Ahnenliste?
Zu welchen Kirchspielen gehörten Blievenstorf und Beckentin? Meines Wissens waren beide Personen evangelisch.
