My mothers’ lost family hereditary/records

Hello,

My am looking for any information about my mother’s side of the family. I know she grew up in Tilsit Germany on a farm with her sister and brother. Her mother was from Lithuania.

Her fathers name is:
Engelbert Retat
DOB Dec 12, 1881

Her mother’s name is:
Auguste Retat
nee Torkel
DOB Jan 12. 1888

My mother’s name was Watrut Ingeborg Retat

Brother Derek
Sister Irene

I don’t not know how to Speak or read German only English. All records of our mother’s family line was lost fleeing from Tilsit to Celle Germany during war.

   Enter name Retat and you will get two results (probably the same
   person).

   Have they been catholic or protestantic?
