This is my first time of writing to this list. I hope somebody can tell me where I can find information about my German ancestors.My gtx2 grandfather Louis ROTHENBERG was
born in Henstedt,Hannover about 1833. He came to Britain sometime after 1833 and before 1854 when he was married in London.
Are there ship 's passenger lists available? Also is it possible to check records in Germany the same as we can here? Would the fact that he was probably jewish make any difference? Sorry for all these questions but I do so want to find out more about this part of my family.
