A few days ago I offered some perspectives on Low German but forgot to include an excellent source of information for those interested. It is a book, Low German & Plautdietsch(sic), by Ruben Epp and published by the Reader's Press, Hillsboro, Kansas, 193; ISBN: 0-9638494-0-9.
Mr. Epp is a Mennonite and as they were especially numerous all across northern Germany their language was Low German. The book, a relatively small one of 133 pages, traces the spread of Low German through the Mennonite world, even into Russia.
