Menslage near Löningen is about 60 miles south from Moordorf.
Werner , Thank you for the info . I am not real good with the German area
yet but I have been trying to get it figured out . I am under the
impression that all my ancestors from Germany ( I have 5 different surnames
from there ) all came from Ostfriesland . I have also heard it called
Niedersachsen ( Lower Saxony ) . I have ancestors from Prussia and Hanover
. My ggggrandfather stated on the 1880 census that he was born in Hanover
, I have another document that says he was born in Moordorf and then for
immigration his last residence was Menslage . Would these all be in Hanover
? I am assuming that Moordorf is the village , then that leaves Hanover ,
Neidersachsen and Ostfriesland . Are the others the state , county , ect.
