In regard to MESSNER family message.
I do not know of ay Samuel........
I only know of a Franciska ( Sommeheimer)Messner married to Jacob MESSNER, They came from Baden, Germany to NY USA in 1853-4, with their son August who was under a year old, then settling on lower East side until the 1860's, They had 3 more daughters but only one survived past 8 years old, her name Elizabeth. Then they moved to Batavia NY, where they owned a farm during the late 1860-70's time frame. When Jacob died Franciska moved in with her son August, and family we think. But by 1900 This Messner family ws living in Union township , now called Union City, NJ. Franciska and Elizabeth both widows lived next door to August and wife Lena and their 5-6 children.. Elizabeth died in 1912, ,Franciska in 1917, and August in the 1930's. I have no idea where the rest of the family went. I'm sure they married and of course the females names changed. The only recognized names I knew of from census, Gus a policeman and the oldest son died from accident in 1927, and Louis I think died in 1940's. Family seems to be all buried in Grove church cemetery in North Bergen, NJ. That is ALL the info I know.
