To Jacobus Hannema: Some time ago you mentioned 2 women named MENTE(n). Do you have any descendants on the Male line of that family? I have been looking for years for info on Johann (Hans) MENTEN, who m. my grandmother's sister Marie Dorothea (Doris) BRUNS, c. 1870, probably in Bremen. They had 5 sons, all born in Bremen. 4 of them came to US and I have been in touch with some of their descendants but no one knows anything about Hans. Doris was originally from Vilsen. Thanks for any info you or anyone might have. Jane

Hullo Jane,

I noticed from your email that you mention a Marie Dorothea Bruns c 1870
from Bremen. I have an ancestor, Sophie Charlott Bruns born 13 July 1795 in
Bederkesa and who died in 1843. She married Johann Friedrich Daniel in
Bederkesa on 20 March 1814.

I do not know much of her family. Her father was Heinrich Christoph Bruns
and his wife Katharina Susanne Wohlers. They lived in Bederkesa.

Can you make any connection to the Bruns family in Bederkesa?
