Johann Heinrich Menke was born 10 June 1825 in
Oldenburg and died 8 Nov. 1905 in Hochheim, DeWitt
Co., TX. He immigrated to Texas in 1853. I am looking
for additional information about this Menke family in
Oldenburg.

was your Menke catholic? Then could it be, that he came from the southern part of the former Grand Duchy Oldenburg, called Oldenburger-Münsterland. I saw the name in Lohne, Vechta, Bakum, Steinfeld.
