Meier Family Genealogy

Hi Barbara,
Sorry its taken so long to reply. God the days just fly by. Don't know if
you remember my posting....... it was supposed to be taken from a family
bible... but we all know how things don't always add up.
Any way this is what it gave:
L. Frederick Meier immigrated to America in 1886. He passed away at the age
of 52, on Dec. 16, 1917. Birth place Engerode Braunscleweig Province Hanover
Germany. Give his wife as Dienna Leans Miller Meier. Born 11-30-1850 Questedt
Prov. of Hanover.

They are all from Prussia

Now at the end of the manifest there was a wilh Meier listed as a passenger
15 yrs. in compartment 4. Isn't Wilh- Wilhem or William. But he was listed
as dying coming over on the ship. There is some question as if this could be
our william?

Then I found on the Father that I do believe that whoever typed this bible
page had to type it incorrect because he wasn't like 13 years old when the
first son was born. That was Henry. August was to her first marriage to a
Miller. We all knew this. So I am assuming that he was close to her age and died at
the age of 62. making him be born around 1855. The only one I found on any
manifest so far is from the ship Lessing 1886 from Hamburg= Friederick[h] 34
from pein[o] Prussia. But could you tell me if this is feasible from the
location of where it said he was from? I really do have a good feeling about
this. He came and then his family. But where do I go from here. I can not put
them together on any census in NY and I know that's where they were. And no I
haven't use the tapes at LDS center. This is my next step but don't know how to
go about it. One is not far me in Plainview, NY> The only naturalization
papers I found was not him. It said this man was about 5'5" my grandfathers
family were all over 6 feet and had tremendous hands. So I seriously doubted it
was him. Whatever help would greatly be appreciated. To bad they weren't
catholic. But we are positive they were lutherans. when my grandmother married him
she was kind of disowned for marring a "black" lutheran. Hope I didn't take
too much of your time. Have a nice thanksgiving? I'm cooking. Jo Ann
