I've read the history of Mecklenburg but I was wondering what was happening
in Mecklenburg in and around 1879 that a large family would leave all at once
or at least very close together.
In my family it seems like all the aunts, uncles and cousins left for the U.
S. nearly at the same time. Couples packed up the kids and their own parents
and left. All of them going to the same place.
I suppose I am always looking for the story behind events like this. But, I
would be interesting in reading more about the circumstances of the times.
Can this information be found in Germans to America? Could I find these
books in a local library or only a large University Library?
I have been getting no where because I don't have much time and I squeeze a
lot into Sunday whenever I can.
Any thing you can say that will point me in the right direction I would
appreciate very much. I have a lot of people to find and thought I might get
to the public library on a few Sunday afternoons.
