Hi Hans Juergen,

Her Carl Krüger couldn't have been 28 years old when he arrived because he was only 23 years old when he married in 1857 according to the church record. Maybe the age given aboard ship was not accurate or there was a misunderstanding because of language. Also some times a person who calls himself Carl might give the name "Johann" aboard ship if his legal name was "Johann Carl Friedriech".

We were looking at the SS Copernicus of 23 Jun 1855 for a while. There is a Carl Krieger from Mecklenburg listed as born about 1835 on that one and he could have traveled with parents.

It's been quite a mystery for Evelyn.
