I would dearly love any information or connections to the following:
MECKELBURG Frederick/Friederich - Military Officer
married SCHNEIDER Louisa
son:
MECKELBURG, August Albert: born c1853, Nordenburg (now Krylovo)
The son is my Grandfather and he came to Australia from Germany on the SS Hohenstaufin in March 1887.
The other is:
GOTTE, Frederina, born c1840. Father was Frederick.
We do not know if Frederina was born in Australia, or where the family comes from. She married in Australia (HUMPHRIS) and was very successful as a business woman when her husband died early leaving her pregnant and with nine other children under sixteen. Frederina is an unusual name so any connections in that regard may also be helpful
