Meck-Strelitz Marriage Registers 1826-1875

I have the earlier sets of these books, but was wondering if someone who has
this set would do me a favor, and check for a marriage for:

Carl Johann Gottfried Reinhold to Ernestine Rickmann

Possibly married around 1856-1869

And/or

Carl Johann Gottfried Reinhold to Wilhelmina Helena Johanna Agnese Seidell

Possibly married around 1869-1875

I found a christening record for a child born to Carl and Ernestine in 1869
in the Neddemin church records. Another Reinhold, who may be a brother,
married there in Neddemin in 1864 and his father was the deceased, Christoph
Wilhelm Reinhold of Coelpin. In the 1800-1825 set, I found the father's
marriage: 22 Oktober 1819 Christoph Wilhelm Reinhold to Anna Sophia
Staffeld. I have ordered the Dewitz parish records, but am anxious to see if
I can find either of Carl's marriages in this particular set of churchbooks.

Hi, Robert,
I checked the index and, unfortunately, there is
no Reinhold/Rickmann and no Reinhold/Seidell
marriage in whole Mecklenburg-Strelitz 1826-1875.

Do the registers include the Principality of Ratzeburg with regard to the
towns of Carlow, Schlagsdorf, Schoenberg and Herrnburg?
I am searching for my Boeken, Bocken, Boken, Boecken ancestors and would
appreciate any information.

Thanks Dr. Gronau. At least I know to look elsewhere, perhaps in parishes
near the border between the two duchies. Miss Seidell was born in Gnoien, so
between the two areas I hope to find them.

Have checked all my resource books, but for the life of me I cannot find out
what occupation a DROESCHER was (Dröscher). If anyone on this newsgroup
would enlighten me, I would be greatful! Will have to write it down
somewhere, as I used to know what it meant, but even my current german
dictionary doesn't list it.

This name sounds as "Drescher" which is a "thresher" (a man who threshes
corn) in English language.

Dr�scher is equivalent to Drescher which is a thresher in a farm.

Hi Robert!
Droescher is the Low German word for Drescher. A Drescher treshed grain by a flail. This occupation died out. Somebody of our list wrote "corn" and not grain.
After World War II we got corn from the US because there was the same translation mistake. That was the reason why we had to eat corn bread! Terrible!
In most cases a "Droescher" was free and not subject.
