Marriage record in Bremen

Something that was mentioned in a discussion about early marriages in
Germany has me wondering if perhaps my great great grandparent's may have been
married in Bremen before their departure for the United States but after they
contracted for their passage.

I have been unable to locate their marriage in either of their home village
churches in Hannover. Nor have I been able to locate their marriage in the
United States.

They traveled together on the bark Constitution which sailed from Bremen and
arrived in NYC on 22 May 1841 . . . Meta Erich, age 25, gentleman's servant
and Henry Degener, age 21 years, 10 months, farmer. Her birth date was 11
July 1815 and his was 30 May 1819. If Henry was 21 years and 10 months then
perhaps they contracted for the voyage in March of 1841.

Where would I write to in Bremen to try and locate a marriage?

Thank you for any suggestions.

Hello Don,
I forwarded your query to the Maus-forum (Maus-Liste). You probably will receive replies from there. I will have a look next week at the Bremen marriges sources of that time concerning your family names.
Greetings to the other side of the water
