I'm not sure I understand you correctly, but do you want a list of our German ancestors last names to compare to church records? I try to learn German with Rosetta Stone. Dutch and Norwegian are fairly easy for me to learn because they are similar, but I grew up sometimes hearing German spoken at my grandmother's. Her wedding invitations were sent out in German, our family felt connected to Germany although of course our primary allegiance was to the US. Right now I think I'd prefer to live in Germany, I don't like our president.
When I was 7 or so, my grandmother taught me how to read the old style German lettering fluently, the only trouble is, she did not teach me the translation lol. I also took one year of German in college which came very easily to me but that was in the early 1970s.
Anyway, here are my most recent names. I am 75% German and 25% French. I'll add my husband's name, Voth, but the others are mine. If you see any names that are not originally German, such as Borz, and you know the origin, I would be very interested. Just as a side note, all of my relatives were Lutheran.
Vielen dank,

Susan,

My ancestors are also Voth (now Footh). Where are you located? I am in Minnesota. I know my great-great-grandparents were in Ohio before they came to MN.
