I am sorry to write in English, I can not write in German.
I have in my family the name LETTAU [sometimes spelled Lattau]
born in West Prussia.
Amelia Augusta Lettau, b. 29 May 1859 in Feskora, W. Prussia,
Germany. She was the daughter of Michael LATTAU [he born 28
June 1819] and his wife, Karoline GRAMMES.
Amelia married Herman Edward TETZLAFF 19 Nov 1884 in West
Germany and they soon came to America -- 14 July 1885 on the
ship India [Hamburg to New York].
Note: We have been unable to find "Feskora". Could it be Peskova
or Peskowa, [just SE of Jastrow] ?. Other members of this family
are from the same general area [Zempleburg, Vandsburg, Debinke
or Debiny]. Another town name mentioned is Kleinton, or Klintneen.
Could this be Klonowa?
Others that came from this area and married into my husband's
family are EBENT, WAGONER [or WAGNER], KAROW,
ZOELLMER, ZUZELLA [OR SUSALLA], ZIEMAN.
