Marhenke

Hi Tanya,

Thanks for the reply. I was amused with what is probably a typo in your
message. You spelled the name Mahrenke. What is amusing about that is
the fact one leg of the Marhenke family pronounced it that way and it is
even on their marriage lic. that way.

Meyer Meier is a pretty common German name. Marienhagen is south west of
Hannover so I doubt there is a connection there. I am not the authority
on Ft Wayne but I think there was a large German settlement there at one
time judging by the German Lutheran Churches there.

Thanks again at least I know some one is reading the list----Bob

I have Meyer's in my line which started in the farming town of Hajen on the
weser river south of Hanover city and ended up in fort wayne in 1854. My
family surname is Bode, but for some reason our ancestors changed it to
Bohde. Let me know if any of this sounds familiar.

Hi Donn,

What are your Meyer family relatives so I can look in the censuses and/or in
the Lutheran cemetery info dad has collected here? Also, it is likely they
are named in some of the baptism records that we have here. Dad has written
down some Meyer aunts and uncles as sponsors for Deitrich and Auguste Meyer
Nahrwold's children's baptisms.

Tanya

Hi Tanya,
only one very slight correction: the first name is written as Dietrich, not
Deitrich.
Good luck
Wilhelm (Thiele)
