I'm interested in any information about the Malkowsky family from Westphalia
and in particular a father and son who apparently had the same name.
Philipp Joseph Malkowsky was born about 1852/54 in Westphalia. In 1881 he
was living in England, remained here and died here in 1903. He led a rather
colourful life and adopted the surname of his first wife (Tott) when married
to his second wife (Mary Ann Turner). On his marriage certificate to my
great aunt, Johanna Louisa Tott (1857-1920) his father is also named as
Philipp Joseph Malkowsky and the father's occupation is listed as
'government inspector'. The father was dead by the son's first marriage date
(1896.)
I have a possible photo of the son (b 1852/54) and more information about
him once he came to England but would like to know more about his life in
Germany and his German parents and grandparents. I believe there are some
Malkowskys from Medebach in Westphalia but they may not be related.
