My gg-grandfather, Johann/John VOLKMANN was geb.~1852 in Mecklenburg, don’t know the town. He emigrated to Chicago, Illinois ~1867. I don’t know anything about his parents.

There is an entry in the GTA for a Johann VOLKMANN with parents Johann & Marie. They emigrated in June 1868, Johann being 17 years old, But I don’t know if this is MY John VOLKMANN or not?

Would you possibly have any information on this VOLKMANN family?

Or, Do you know what part of Mecklenburg VOLKMANNs are prevalent in?

My g-grandmother (RUST) was born in the village RIEBKE near by the village GROß NEMEROW near by the city NEUBRANDENBURG in country Mecklenburg.
I suppose the family lifes in the year 1894 in RIEBKE / GROß NEMEROW. The mother of my g-grandmother was a VOLKMANN. Don't know the firstname and other informations. Sorry!
