Lütjen / luetjen - dna

I have a Luetje/Lutje Quell born in 1698, germany. I think it is a first
name not a last.

Have A Nice Day, Jill

Hi,

I am looking for men with the surname of LTJEN / LUETJEN to take a DNA
test.
Ancestry.com is offering a 33 marker test for $79.00.

Two of my cousins have taken the test. Strangely, their results do not
match.
I would dearly love to have other "LTJEN"s to take the test to compare the
results.

If you know of anyone with this surname, would you please pass this e-mail
on?

I would appreciate it very much.

Thanks,

Bobbi

Hi Jill,

Ltje is a given name. It probably came from the surname Ltjen.

I think Ltjen (or Ltgen, Ltken and so on) is a rather common Name in
the North-West of Germany and means "small". You can find a lot of
LTJEN in the German Telephone book (http://www.dastelefonbuch.de/) but
I don't think, most of them are relatives, so it would not be worth the
money to have them tested, as you would not think all people with the
surname "Small" would show matching results.
Best wishes, Rotraud

Hi Rotraud,

Thank you for your reply.

I am interested in having as many people as possible take the test.
That way we could find out how many different family lines there are.
Also, it would show to which ones the American "Luetjen"s would connect.
