I am from the US and looking for a great, great grandfather who apparently found a long bridge in 1880 from Germany to America. Anyone know of the Frederick, Christina?? and Charles G Krueger family, please email me. Frederick was born in Nov 1838 and Charles G born in Nov. 1879. Not even sure of the wife's name.
From family records they arrived in Baltimore on Dec., 1880. They settled in Penna. Hope someone can help.
I have a lot of German ancestors by the name of NEIHEISEL around Zell and Waldmohr, Rhineland, Germany. Also XAVIER FRANK DESS from Baiern, Germany and his wife was a ROSINNA or MARY ISENBERGER from Bavaria, Hesse-dar Germany. Hope the spelling is correct. If these names are familiar, I can send additional information. Glad to have found this site. Thanks in advance for any iinformation.

Christine,
Thanks for the list of Nieheisels. I am really considering writing but I am afraid they do not read English anymore than I do German. Can you help me out with what all the numbers mean in the addresses? On Neiheisel, Edgar.....please explain what the Feldstr. 6 66914 means. Waldmohr 06373 92 86 of course is the city or whatever. I am assuming the following numbers are like our zip codes. Mary Ann
Hi Mary Ann
Neiheisel = last name
Edgar = given name
Feldstr.6 = street Nr. 6
66914 = ZIP Code for Waldmohr
06373 9286 = phone number (when you phone from somewhere in Germany)
9286 = phone number when you also live in Waldmohr
(to call from a foreign country you have to dial
049 6373 9286)
To write a proper adress it will look like this
Herr (Mr.)
Edgar Neiheisel
Feldstrasse 6
D - 66914 Waldmohr

I think it will depend how old this Neiheisels are, wether they are able to
read english - and how good their education is. Today every child learns
english - but not all use it and so forget it.
Best whishes
Christine
THANKS. A little Spanish is taught over here starting in kindergarten. Languages are usually an elective in upper grades. You do not know how many times I have wished I would have taken German W A Y back then. I will let you know how I make out. Mary
Hi Mary
whatever you will do - at the moment I can`t help - as we have our holidays
beginning this weekend.
If you wish me to translate something for you - it has to wait till mid of
September - or someone else has to do it.
It is the same with your other questions - at the moment I can`t look for
that.
Do you know where in Bavaria your Dees came from ? I?m member of the Bavaria
List and could ask - but with more chance if I know a region and some dates.
Isenberger from Bavaria, Hessen-Dar is nonsens - either Bavaria or
Hessen-Dar(mstadt)
- it is the same as above, we need real dates and a region or town.
In the German online phonebook www.das-telefonbuch.de there is only one
Isenberger:
Isenberger Helga,
Kiedricher Str. 10, 65197 Wiesbaden, Phone: 0611 44 68 10
(Wiesbaden is in today federal state (province) Hessen)
Greetings
Christine

Christine,
I will have to do more research on this. I am only sending you what I have been told and it is more often than not... wrong. It does not help that I do not know the Germany geography. I honestly appreciate your help. I am also going away. Will get back to you later in Sept. Enjoy your holiday. Mary Ann
