Losekamp

Looking for information on Henry Losekamp (possible John Henry Losekamp).
US Immigration records show in 1842 he originated in Holzhausen. He was
born about 1825 and died in Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky in 28 Nov
1890. In 1850 he is found living with Joseph Losekamp, which is possibly a
brother. Joseph was born about 1831. They both lived to Cincinnati Ohio
from 1842 to the 1860's. Henry moved to Kentucky and Joseph moved to
Dearborn County, Indiana. Henry's daughter, Catherine Losekamp, married
Frank Pulsfort, who was born in Oythe.

I'm looking for actual birth date of Henry and Joseph Losekamp and their
parents to prove they were brothers or cousins, but any other information is
greatly appreciated.

Nancy,

Do you have any more info about Frank Pulsfort?

My g g grandfather was Johannes Pulsfort, born in Oythe. I forget the year, maybe 1800 or 1831, I have that at home. JP changed his last name to Grote when he married a girl by that last name up in Erlte who apparently inherited a farm. I'd like to know more about the Pulsforts of Oythe, including those who came to the US.

Thanks,

Find-A-Grave has Heinrich Losekamp's headstone, with dates that correspond to your birth and death dates for Henry.

The headstone says that he was born in Amt Fürstenau, Hannover:

It gives exact birth or baptism and death dates as well. That provides good information that you may be able to use in researching his Hannoverian roots.

Immigration records shows orgin as Holzhausen and grave marker shows birth
place as Amt Fürstenau On the map, these seem pretty far away, do you
think I'm looking at two different people? Seems odd that they both end up
in the same city, Covington Kentucky. Any help is appreciated.
Nancy

Chris, I will email you directly with what I have.
Nancy

Birthplace could well have been Amt Fürstenau, Hannover but emigration records often reflect the last place of residence before emigration, so he could have been living in Holzhausen before coming to the U.S.A.
