I am searching for any information regarding my grandmother and her family.
MATHILDA LOHMAN was born either in Westphalia or Gladbeck. These places are
near Dusseldorf.
She was born in 1875, her parents were
MATHILDA (EFFENBERGER) LOHMAN and BERNARD LOHMAN.
My grandmother came to the USA in 1884 when she was 9 years old.
Her parents had died and she came with her grandmother and step-grandfather
HART (I don't have a first name).
MATHILDA had a brother BERNARD who stayed in Germany.
MATHILDA married my grandfather JULIUS KUESSEL (spelled KUSSEL in Europe) in
Paul, Nebraska in 1894.
They lived in Nebraska City, Nebraska, raising their family of nine children.
They were Roman Catholic.
Mathilda died in 1929 and Julius in 1951. They are buried in Nebraska City,
Nebraska, at Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
