I cannot resist mentioning a Norwegian family Coldevin which may have come from this region. The Norwegian family immigrated in Tønsberg in Norway around year 1600. Originally, the name was spelled Coldewei/Coldewey/Coldevey. The original immigrant in Norway was Cort Coldevei who became a bailiff in Tønsberg. He married a daughter of a local mayor. His sons Jörgen and Oluf both became mayors in Tønsberg in the late 1650's. Later on, the family extended its activities to Middle and Northern Norway. They became officers and land owners. Male names were Cort, Isach, Jörgen, Jochum, Ole/Oluf.
If anyone recognizes names from families in the Wilhelmshaven region around year 1600 I would be very grateful to know.
