Locate a town

Hello Listers,
I am trying to locate a town listed as Laasch Mecklenberg in 1875 as an ancestor was born there. I have tried all map searches and other sources on the internet. I only find a Laasche in Niedersachsen or a Laach in Reinland-Pfalz. Did the spelling of this town change as did others I have searched before?

If you find that your ancestor was from Gross Laasch, I can probably help
you. What is the name? I have access to the microfilms of Gross Laasch and
have a lot of records of my own from that town.

Thanks for your reply to my quest of ancestors in Laasch. Don't know if
they are from Gross Laasch or Klein Laasch although the map site sent by
Hans shows they are not far from each other.

If you could check for this family, I would be very happy.
Parents: Johann Stopsack and Wilhelmine or Hanka Roggmann.
Children: Caroline b. 12 Oct 1863, John Carl b. 18 Sep 1867, Augusta Marie
b. 5 may 1873, Herman Johanas b. 13 May 1875, and Carl b. abt. 1879-80.

They are listed as coming to the US in 1880 without the father, just the
mother and 5 children. It would be nice to know where they lived in
Germany.
