Does anyone have any knowledge of Serno, Coswig-Anhalt citizens?
My ancestor was Maria Catarina Lerm , who born, married and died in Serno, Coswig-Anhalt. She married my Ancestor Johann Christoph Lorf born 1756 and he died in Serno in 1835 at the age of 80. I don't know if they had any children. He then married his second wife Johanne Elisabeth Dreiboldt who was born 1771 in Serno and died 1827 in Serno. Their children are: Johann Christoph Lorf b. 1786 and Maria Elisabeth Lorf born 1787 in Serno.
My great great grandparents were:
Johann Christoph Lorf b. 1786 in Serno and d. 1864 also in Serno. He married Wilhelmine Sophie Christineck on November 2, 1810 in nearby Dahnsdorf, Brandenburg. She was born in Dahnsdorf January 16, 1787 and died 1863 in Serno. Johann Christoph Lorf's Profession was :Herzoglicher Gartenvoigt" in Serno area, listed on his death record.
Their son, my great grandfather, Johann Gottlieb Lorf, Sr. married my great grandmother Johanne Maria Friederike Neidigk in 1847 who lived in Buko by Coswig-Anhalt. Her father Gottfried Neidigk was also a Lumberman/Forester in Buko. They emigrated to Detroit, Michigan, U.S. in 1868. (Where I was born).
Wilhelmine's parents Johann Bernhard Christineck of nearby Haseloff, Brandenburg and Christiane Elisabeth Paul from Belzig, Brandenburg were married in nearby Belzig, Brandenburg, which is very close to Serno & Buko.
Does anyone have any knowledge of any of these ancestors? Many of my Lorf ancestors seem to have been Burgers (Mayors) of their towns for generations in: Bueror Werder, Buro, Klieken, Serno and Buko since 1600's.
LORF, VON ZERBST, MORITZ, LERM, DRIEBOLDT, KRAUSE, NEIDIGK, from Sachsen-Anhalt near Coswig-Anhalt.
Also: CHRISTINECK, PAUL, MICHAELIS from nearby Belzig area of Brandenburg.
Thank you for any help in this research.
Warm Greetings from Pompano Beach, Florida, U.S.,
Jeanne Lorf
