I have an ancestor, Henrich von Lendindhausen (1407-?), who has a child, Hermann Schulte zu Lenninghausen (1520-?), at the age of 113 years !!
It is of course impossible. Can someone help me ?
Why is the name of the son different of the father ?
Thank you already.
Regards,
Hello Carine,
I have had the same problem with variations of the spelling in the surname. It's not unusual that names changed over time, it just makes researching more difficult.
Also there have been a lot of emails recently about the husband marrying into a farm and adopting the name of the farm or the name of the wife. I could forward a few to you, but it might be an idea to go into the westfalen-l archives. There is lots of information on it there.
Kind regards
Sabina (Kanada).
