My grandparents came from Hannover and attended the Evangelisch (Lutheran)
church. When they got to America, they attended the Evangelical Lutheran,
which had services in German and later merged with the Dutch Reformed, to
become Evangelical & Reformed, and in the 1950's merged with part of the
Churches of Christ to become the United Church of Christ.NOTE: There is still a branch of the Church of Christ, but they are not
part of the original German Evangelical Lutheran churches. All the UCC's in my city were once Evangelical & Reformed.
The same thing happened to the church my great grandparents went to. Must be
a Hannover thing. :>)
