Lagedrost(e)

Hi Don,
There's only one online German record in the archives for the name you're
researching

Maybe he originated in Messingen like this 21 yr old Bernard Heinrich
Lagendrost who paid 50 Taler before migrating to America in 1848:-

Hello Don,
I believe you have struck paydirt here! Don't fail to pursue this one.
Bernd Heinrich Lagedrost(e) fits your ancestor to the "T" except for the
reversal and anglicization of his first two names ... not an uncommon
occurence
for immigrants to the USA.
With the name Lagedrost being so unique in the US it is quite likely that
all the Lagedroste families in Germany are related to you in some way. Be
sure to write letters to as many of them as you can find addresses for!
My mother's maiden name was Benjestorf, and it turns out that all the
Benjestorf's in North America have descended from her grandfather or his
cousin. I have been in contact with all three Benjestorf families in Germany
and it turns out that they are all relatively closely related to me.
