Hi together!
Here is another Klaus and he is searching for KULOW, too!
My KULOWS lived in Rühlow, which is not far from Neubrandenburg.
Johann Jacob and Johann Joachim Kulow, both blacksmith (horseshoe blacksmith and armourer), were godfather in 1770 (+/- 10 years). They had connections to Cölpin and Neuensund.
By the way: I've a problem to research on the Christoph Stoepel homepage, which Klaus Meyer mentioned. It doesn't accept my surnames. "Surname not guilty!"
Meine KULOWs lebten in Rühlow.
I know of an another person researching the Kuhlow family from Rhlow, Meck-Strelitz. His ancestors emigrated and settled in Bay City Michigan, United States. Mine settled in Detroit, Michigan in 1868.. He and I have not compared to check what our relation is yet.
My ancestor was Johann Carl Friedrich Kulow born 8 June 1818, and his parents were the farmhand Joachim Christian Kulow and his wife Anna Dorothea, nee Voss. Both were married in Neuenkirchen 21. November 1817. The bridegroom was the son of Matthias Kulow, the bride the daughter of Andreas Christian Voss. At the same day was married a brother of Joachim Christian Kulow, Johann Andreas Kulow to Charlotte Dorothea Henriette Schmidt, daughter of the brick maker Johann Friedrich Schmidt
Matthias Christoph Kulow (cow-herdsman) was born about 1772 and died 17 January 1850 in Neuenkirchen.
When I try the site of Christoph Stoepel I am able to research either "Kuhlow" or "Kulow". You should try again.
