KRIETER family crest

Hello!

Can anyone help me find where I can authenticate a family crest?

My great-aunt went to Germany MANY years ago to do family research. She came
back with some information and a copy of what is claimed to be our family
crest. I have absolutely no source information on what she collected; I have
only a page of research results and a black and white copy of "our" crest. I
have been able to verify and add to much of what she did, but nothing I have
found indicates that the KRIETER family would have any type of crest.

Any suggestions on who I could contact to find out if there is any validity
to this crest?

Thank you for any suggestions.

Hello,
There are all kinds of websites with family crests if you do a google
search. Mostly they want to sell you one. Who's to say what is authentic?!

The crest was given to an individual for his use and that of his direct
descendents --- not the uncles, aunts and third cousins twice removed ---
according to the heraldry purists. I guess that explains why some surnames
have more than one crest.
