Have you ever looked at the numerous microfilm available that the LDS
has? There is, for example this one:
Volkszählungen, 1809-1864
Census contain names of head of household, wife, children, servents, age,
religion, professions, and buildings of the city of Hildesheim, Hannover.
There are many films you might find of interest. www.familysearch.org
Go to the Family History Catalog and search under "place". There are
numerous church records as well.

Hello:
I am doing research in the Rehburg area and I have just found a new
record giving me a surname for the wife. The name is spelled various ways
and am wondering which spelling would be correct. One record says Klapp and
one says Klopp. I believe the woman was from the Rehburg area since her
husband is from there. There first child was born in Iowa in 1868 and they
probably emigrated to America around 1866-67.
