I hope this email is being sent to the correct place. If not, I profusely apologize .
Information: In 1847 and 1848 two brothers, Johann Andreas Koppe (born 10 January 1820) and Gottlieb Koppe (born 1827), arrived in America. It's believed they were born in Oranienbaum, Anhalt, Germany. It's also believed they had a sister, Karolina Koppe, who married Veltin Kittner (born 1897). Karolina and Veltin emigrated in 1849 and already had two children upon their arrival in America.
The first name of Johann, Gottlieb and Karolina's mother was Magdalena. She also emigrated to America around 1848/1849. Her husband did not arrive with her.
Lastly, prior to leaving Germany Gottlieb Koppe had supposedly married and possibly divorced, and there was at least one child from the marriage. The ex-wife and child did not emigrate. During the late 1860s Gottlieb returned to Germany, but stayed only a few months. It's believed he was visiting his first family.
Question: Can anyone recommend a possible contact in Oranienbaum about the Koppe Family? Perhaps the address of the local church pastor?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Best regards,
