Extract from the Kopfsteuer Beschreibung f�r das F�rstent�mer Calenberg - G�ttingen von 1689

Hans Bargmann ['86: 80J] (�Mg; 18gr) oo Elizabeth Aschen ['86: 45J] (9gr). Tochter Margaretha (14J; 4�gr).

Question: In the line above line, in the square brackets, there appears the following '86: 80J.
                        Am I right in assuming that this means that the person in the year 1686 was 80 years old?

Question: Was the data collected in 1686 and printed in 1689 or was it collected in 1689?

The reason for my questions are that I wish to calculate the year of birth of these people.

Dear Holger,

the census was done in 1686 and in 1689, so there are two different records.
The book you have seen (1689) provides sometimes also data from 1686 to
compare and clarify certain questions.
