Kleinpreussenbruch (Klein-Pruschillen), East Prussia

About 1800 to 1850 I had ancestors named Bublitz (Baublitz, Boblitz) (and Strauss?) in the village of Klein-Pruschillen (Klein-Prussillen, Klein-Pruscillen). I think it was also called Kleinpreussenbruch. Grosspreussenbruch is north.

I have located it on maps. These are portions of maps that have been sent to me from other people and I do not know the source or age of the maps.

It is very close and just north of Scherrewischken (Bruderhof) (Maloe Putjatino), Kreis Angerapp at latitude 54 degrees 28' North, longitude 21 degrees 58' East.

The closest church was at Ballethen (Baletken) (Sadovoye), Kreis Angerapp at latitude 54 degrees 29' North, longitude 21 degrees 55' East.

The closest larger town to these places is Gumbinnen (Gusev) at latitude 54 degrees 35' North, longitude 22 degrees 12' East.

It is an area that was East Prussia and is now part of Russia (separated from the main part of Russia). The capital was Koenigsberg (Kaliningrad).

I looked at kartenmeister.com and also expedia.com maps and also 2 gazetteers of Germany and Poland on Internet.

I would like to know the old spellings and new spellings and anything else you can tell me about Kleinpreussenbruch, such as farming, crops, whether the village exists today, etc.

Many thanks. This is for genealogy. Zelda Zeuge Dubel. rvdubel@msn.com

Zelda,

According to Yahoo | Mail, Wetter, Suche, Nachrichten, Finanzen, Sport & mehr , Kl. Pruschillen
has been called Stolbovoe since 1947. This web site gives the older names for towns and
their current names, if the towns are still existent. At horlacher.org - Diese Website steht zum Verkauf! - Informationen zum Thema horlacher. ,
you can find the town and its county and where its Protestant and Catholic Parishes and Civil Service
Offices are. I hope this helps a little if you hadn't found these sites earlier.

Susan
