Kistner family

Good morning Michael. There is a good chance that your ancestors left
Germany through the port of Hamburg. And if they did there is film at
LDS that lists emigrants through that port. Have you looked at Castle
Rock yet? Many Germans came through New Orleans and travelled upriver
to Missouri and Illinois. I used to live in St. Louis and the library
on Linbergh (S) across from the mall has loads of information and LDS
tapes on permanent loan. And of course the LDS church just around the
corner on Clayton has library where you can do some looking. Gotta go,
church time. If you have any questions email direct or on the Hanover
list5.

Hello:
I am seeking information on my relatives who emigrated from the
Kingdom of Hannover about 1844.
Conrad Kistner and his wife Johanna (nee Deganhardt or Dirgenbach).
Johanna was born January 1 1816 but I have no birth date for Conrad.
They had a son Heinrich C Kistner born May 7 1840 and a daughter
Johanna A born about 1842.
They settled in the state of Missouri about 120 miles south of Saint
Louis near Cape Girardeau Missouri.
I have been unable to find their home city, port of departure, or
port of entry. I understand that most Bremen records prior to 1846
have been destroyed but I am not sure that is where they departed.
I am the oldest surviving relative of Conrad and very proud of my
heritage and want to pass our family history to my grandchildren. I
would sincerely appreciate any help or advise from your group.
Thank you very much,
Michael Kistner
